Why Are So Many People Moving to Alexandria, Virginia?
Allow me to share the wonderful aspects of this Alexandria neighborhood known as The Vantage. Tucked away just south of the Beltway, it's a hidden gem in Fairfax County. It’s not part of the City of Alexandria, but Alexandria within Fairfax County. In 2023, the prices range from the upper 600s to the low 700s, making it an attractive option for many buyers.
This community boasts around 421 homes, all constructed in the late 70s, and it has a very affordable HOA fee of just $70 per year (2023). The fee covers community events like picnics and maintenance of green spaces.
Alexandria (part of Fairfax County)
Let me now guide you through some key features of Alexandria, particularly if you're considering a single-family home here. First, we have Huntley Meadows, the largest park in Fairfax County, spanning over 1,400 acres. Many nature enthusiasts come here for birdwatching, and there are opportunities for both children and adults to participate in classes and activities.
Next, we have Kingstowne, an area with relatively newer homes, built in the late 80s and early 90s. Here, you'll find townhouses, single-family houses, and condos. What sets this area apart is the abundance of grocery stores. Whether you have specific preferences or seek variety, you'll appreciate having Giant, Aldi, Safeway, Wegmans, and Amazon Fresh all within close proximity.
Kingstowne Towne Center
In Kingstowne Towne Center, you'll find a movie theater, ample shopping, and diverse dining options. I must highlight a fantastic Indian restaurant called Aditi Indian Dining. Additionally, every Friday starting at 3 p.m., there's a farmers market right in this parking lot. If you visit, don't miss out on the Colonial Kettle Corn.
Grounded Coffee Shop
For commuters heading to D.C., the Pentagon, or Tyson's Corner, Grounded Coffee Shop is a must-visit. Their pastries are exceptional, though be sure to check for any crumbs before heading to the office!
Franconia Rec Center
Lastly, we have the Franconia Rec Center, an excellent facility with a gym, strength and conditioning areas, lap pool, splash pad, Chessie's Big Backyard, and great trails. It's a place for various family activities and a fantastic resource for residents in this area.
